Dianthus is great as a container plant and useful in borders, rock gardens, and mass plantings. Intense colors range from pink to fire-red to coral to white, accompanied by sweet and spicy aromas. Dianthus prefers well-drained soil and deadheading will prolong blooming. Most varieties will rebloom in the fall.
